The Shetland Isles, wow what a place to immerse yourself in such wondrous landscapes.
I have just returned from a 2 week residency at The Booth, in the ancient town of Scalloway, Shetland and I truly fell in love with the place. It is managed by Wasps studios and owned by Shetland Arts. From sketchbook drawings to working on paper with materials I have revisited, charcoal, soft pastels and watercolour. Working in the landscape returning to the studio space below the accommodation. Here are a couple of images from the Shetland studio. Now I am back in my own studio I can use these as a reference to making a series of oil paintings on paper and canvas. Very exciting.
